Tragedy has struck the family of
Formula One driver Rubens Barrichello.
The Ferrari driver revealed on Friday that his wife,
Silvana, suffered a miscarriage earlier in the week. She was three
months pregnant with their second child.
"We are extremely sorry, because Silvana and
I wanted Eduardo to have a brother," Barrichello tells the
Italian daily Gazzetta dello Sport.
"Unfortunately, these things can happen, but
the important thing is that Silvana is fine."
Barrichello and his wife celebrated the birth of
Eduardo last September.
"I now know what real life is, and where my
priorities are", he said at the time of his son's birth.
Barrichello,
who finished second to Michael Schumacher in the drivers championship
this year, says the couple plan to try again in the future to have
another child.
