Fuel
Ferrari will use Shell V-Power ULG60 in Belgium – this fuel has been used for several races as Shell’s development programme is now focused on 2006.
The Spa Francorchamps circuit is characterised by the longest Formula One lap of the year, this makes pit stop strategy vital to success – a missed pit window can cost a team greatly.
The unpredictable climate at Spa means the teams will have to keep one eye on the weather conditions. A lap of this track on the wrong rubber can cost up to half a minute.
Oils
Ferrari will have high protection Shell Helix SL907 and new Shell Helix SL932 available for use at this weekend’s Belgium Grand Prix.
Shell Helix SL932 may be used by the team as it represents an improvement in efficiency following some intense research and development with Scuderia Ferrari.
The flexible nature of Shell’s engine oil portfolio means Ferrari can wait until the last possible minute to choose the most suitable oil. This allows the team to take conditions during the weekend and drivers’ race strategy into consideration.
Ferrari will continue to use Shell Spirax L6285 gearbox oil.
The twists and turns of the Belgian circuit can be hard on gearboxes. Ferrari will be looking to the Shell lubricant to protect the gearbox for the entire weekend. |
