First day of testing for Scuderia Ferrari
Marlboro at the Monza circuit. Michael Schumacher, Luca Badoer and
Felipe Massa were driving today; all of them at the wheel of an
F2003-GA. The day’s technical programme covered aerodynamic
and tyre testing, as well as working on finding the best set-up
on the car.
Between them, the three Ferrari drivers completed
a total of 139 laps: 30 for Michael, 45 for Luca and 64 for Felipe.
Schumacher set the best time on the day, in 1’22”524.
Massa’s personal best was 1’22”744, while Badoer
did a 1’23”153.
Luca Badoer suffered an engine failure this
morning, whilst Michael Schumacher's day ended early when he had
problems with a new brake development.
The Scuderia continues testing tomorrow according
to the following timetable: Schumacher and Badoer continue at Monza,
where they will be joined by Rubens Barrichello. Felipe Massa will
switch to Fiorano.
