McLaren's Kimi Raikkonen and Ferrari's
Rubens Barrichello escaped sanction on Friday after a fresh stewards'
enquiry into a first lap crash at this month's German Grand Prix.
"The stewards after due and careful deliberation
decide not to levy any penalty either on Rubens Barrichello or on
Kimi Raikkonen," an FIA statement said.
Both drivers were summoned to meet the stewards
at the Hungarian Grand Prix following an appeal hearing in Paris
last week.
That first hearing fined Williams' Ralf Schumacher
$50,000 after the German was told immediately after the race that
he would have to start Sunday's grand prix at the Hungaroring 10
places down from wherever he qualified.
The stewards report on Friday acknowledged that
the Hockenheim circuit was bumpy before the first corner, especially
near the verge that Raikkonen was up against. |
