Ferrari are considering making a stunning £20million-a-year offer to poach Lewis Hamilton from McLaren Mercedes at the end of the season.
Hamilton, who leads the Formula One Championship by seven points, is presently paid around £1m a year and there are suggestions his father Anthony is in talks with team boss Ron Dennis over a new contract.
Ferrari's proposed move for Hamilton, reported today by Italian newspaper Tuttosport, comes in the wake of a massive row at McLaren between Hamilton and his Spanish team-mate Fernando Alonso.
Asked about his new contract negotiations with McLaren, Hamilton said: "I don't get involved in any of that stuff.
"My job is to get in the car and drive. I love everyone at the team, I enjoy working with them and couldn't imagine working anywhere else to be quite honest."
Pressed about a potential lucrative Ferrari offer, Hamilton said: "I would not find it difficult to say no because I'm not here for the money."
