Engine Oil and Gearbox Oil
* The Shell products and formulations performed flawlessly for Ferrari’s one-two win at Hockenheim last weekend.
For the second part of the back to back in Hungary, the car will face similar conditions. Hence, Shell will be providing the same successful formulations to the 248 F1.
* Temperatures are once again expected to be high. However, this track which contains many tight corners is also one of the slowest on the calendar. These factors will therefore be keeping the engine and gearbox temperatures at the top end of the scale.
* This weekend will see the Ferraris running Shell Helix SL-0932 engine oil teamed with gearbox oil Shell Spirax L-10193. The package developed for the team will maximise performance, whilst protecting the moving parts and keeping the temperatures constant.
Fuel
* High performance Shell V-Power ULG 62L/4 which has powered Ferrari to five victories this season, will be supplied for the Hungarian Grand Prix.
Shell fact
* The Hungarian race is a twisty technical circuit that has a low average speed and is usually held in warm conditions. This combination of factors leads to the cars running hotter than normal.
* The rear of the Ferrari is designed to direct hot exhaust gas over the rear of the car. Shell grease which maintains the efficiency of the moving parts, has also been designed to take this extra thermal load into account. |
