Schumi looks towards a new circuit - 16th August 18:58pm GMT

The Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro prepares to take to the track once more this weekend. The venue will be the all-new Istanbul circuit where the first ever Formula 1 Grand Prix of Turkey will take place. It will not be Michael Schumacher’s first outing in the country: “I visited Istanbul a few years ago for a sponsor event and I remember well the enthusiasm and warm reception we received. I have the impression that the Turkish people love F1 and I think that they are pleased we will be holding a Grand Prix in their country”.

The current world champion will have his first view of the track on Thursday: “I don’t know much about the circuit. I will take a close look at it and try to recall every detail on Thursday. Arriving earlier would not really have served any purpose. Thursday’s check will be enough and, in any case, I have no trouble in approaching new circuits. As I have said, we will see what happens”, concluded Michael. “It will be a very interesting weekend”.
