Fuels
* Ferrari will continue to use the new Shell fuel introduced in
Germany, Shell V-Power ULG59.
* As the longest lap of the year, the correct pit stop strategy
is vital – missing a pit window can cost a team greatly. Luca
Baldisserri and his strategy team will be able to rely Shell V-Power’s
efficiency, to get the most laps per stint without compromising
the power output.
* With the ever-present threat of showers, teams will have one eye
on the weather, and try to take advantage from any pit stop for
wet or dry weather tyres. A lap of this track on the wrong rubber
can cost up to half a minute.
* Any wet weather running will see a dramatic drop in fuel consumption
as the lap times slow. This will naturally have a great effect on
pit stop strategy.
Oil
* Shell Spirax L6148T gearbox oil performed so well in Hungary,
it will be retained by the team for use in Belgium.
* Ferrari will continue to use Shell Helix SL785 engine lubricant
in Hungary.
* If the ambient temperature is high, Ferrari also has the high-protection
Shell Helix SL0848 on standby. It is more than likely however, that
given the relatively low temperature in Belgium, SL785 will be used
for the race. |
