The Hungarian Grand Prix provides
the best chance for Ferrari's rivals to end Michael Schumacher's
domination, according to Jaguar star Mark Webber.
Schumacher, who was eighth in Hungary last year,
will break his record of 11 victories in a season if he wins.
"Ferrari are in better shape than last year
so I still predict they're going to be very strong, but it's going
to be a very good race," Webber said.
"He's going to have to work for it, as he has
done for most of the year."
Speaking
to the BBC, Webber predicted the Hungarian race would see "probably
the smallest margin" between the world champions and their
rivals.
That is because the track surface of the Hungaroring
is believed to reduce the advantage held by Ferrari's Bridgestone
tyres over the Michelins used by all their major rivals.
At Hockenheim Michael was fortunate with some of
the retirements around him and Jenson Button starting a bit further
back
"Michael got lapped there last year by Fernando
(Alonso), who had an amazing race.
"Renault's car was very well suited to that
particular circuit and Ferrari had a bit of an off-day, which doesn't
happen that often. Ferrari were exposed and they got punished very
heavily.
"At Hockenheim (the last race) Michael was
fortunate with some of the retirements around him and Jenson (Button)
starting a bit further back.
"There have been some easy Grands Prix for
Michael, but he has had to work very hard at some races this year." |
