Shell oils for the British GP - 5th July 18:11pm GMT

Lubricant

· Ferrari will use new Shell Spirax L6285 gear oil at the British Grand Prix

· Shell Spirax L6285 represents a step change in efficiency resulting in fewer frictional losses through the gearbox

· Even though ambient temperatures are cooler at Silverstone, the oil is still expected to reach high temperatures. The new oil is able to remain thermally stable up to 170°C, which is 30-40°C higher than conventional oil

· Silverstone's high-speed third and fourth gear corners stress the engine in a slightly unusual way. This, combined with the low speed complex at the end of the lap, makes Silverstone a circuit with rather unique engine stresses

· Shell Helix SL907 engine oil will be retained for Silverstone. The oil has been tried and tested throughout the season and offers extremely good durability. Ferrari and Shell have every confidence in its continued success

Fuel

· Shell V-Power ULG60 will be retained for Silverstone

· The fuel blend has been 'tweaked', and although the chemical composition remains the same, the blend is now suited to all weather conditions
