News from Regent Street, London - 6th July 20:26pm GMT

We have the latest news from the street of London. Unfortunately no pictures as yet but hopefully we shall get those soon.

* Martin Brundle was the most entertaining with power slides on most of the corners.

* Mansell performed a 3-4 doughnuts at the end of his run.

* 250,000 people attended the event. Regent Street became so packed that people couldn't get into it and had to be moved to nearby streets where large TV's were on view. People were hanging out of there windows, on lamp posts etc

* Minardi ran there 2 seater with a wife of a major CEO taking the passenger seat. They paid £200,000 at a charity auction for the chance.

* Estimated speeds were going to be 75mph but that was reduced to almost 40mph because of the narrow track and the fact that the public were so close.

* All drivers made there runs but the event had to be stopped early because of public safety. Not because of the cars but it was getting far to congested.
