British GP - Shell preview - 7th June 19:04pm GMT

GEARBOX OIL

* Shell Spirax L6285 will protect the Ferrari gearboxes at Silverstone, a circuit which features medium down-force and high average speeds.

* Although challenging, Silverstone is not a circuit considered to be hard on gearboxes. Unusually hot weather conditions could change its complexion, however.

ENGINE OIL

* Shell Helix SL-0932 will be the engine oil formulation used by Ferrari this weekend.

* England's traditionally temperate weather typically poses few performance challenges for engine oil, on Silverstone's mix of high-speed sections and low-speed corners.

FUEL

* Ferrari will take advantage of Shell V-Power ULG 62L/3, a formulation which has performed exceptionally well since its introduction in Imola.

* If weather conditions are cool, allowing the Ferrari 248 F1 engine to extract even more power, fuel can play an even larger strategic role at the race.
