Michael Schumacher was first to take to the track in England, with Rubens Barrichello taking over in the afternoon. Both men had a programme of tyre testing and set-up work in preparation for the British Grand Prix on 11th July. Schumacher covered a total of 76 laps, the best in a time of 1’18”273. Barrichello completed 34 laps, with a quickest time of 1’18”492.

The Scuderia’s test programme continues tomorrow as follows: Barrichello will carry on at Silverstone, while Badoer continues at Monza.
