Shell oils for the Spanish GP - 3rd May 18:42pm GMT

Engine Lubricant

* Ferrari will introduce another new engine oil in Barcelona, the second in as many races

* Shell Helix SL0907 protects the engine to similar levels as its predecessor, SL909, but has liberated significant power for the Spanish race

* Exact horsepower gains have to remain classified but are single figures

* This is the third generation of engine oil to be used by Ferrari this year and more gains are predicted in the future as Shell and Ferrari learn more about engine wear patterns in the era of one-engine per two race weekend

Fuel

* The fuel blend, Shell V-Power ULG59/L5 is retained for the Spanish Grand Prix

* Last year, Schumacher won the race by making good use of his low-density fuel to stay on track longer than his rivals and carve a lead on an open track. Shell V-Power ULG59/L5 has similar properties as last year’s fuel so Ferrari will be looking for similar strategic advantages once again this year

* Ferrari made maximum use of the efficiency of the Shell fuel in Imola at the last round when the Ferrari once again stayed on track longer than anyone else to place Schumacher third after his pit stop
