Here
is the information on the fuel and oil that Shell will be supplying
Ferrari with at the Spanish GP this weekend.
Fuel
*
As most teams know the circuit intimately from close season testing,
pit stop strategy will be crucial here
* The past few races have seen more and more teams 'short-filling'
on their first stints (i.e. putting less fuel in their cars in order
to go faster in qualifying).
* Shell is confident that, just as in Imola, Ferrari can stay out
longer and still be fast in qualifying if it needs to be
* Teams and drivers usually have the choice between a two or a three-stop
strategy here
* Having powered the F2004 to 62 of a maximum 72 points, Ferrari
will continue using Shell V-Power F1ULG58 in Spain
Lubricant
*
Just as with the fuel, Ferrari will continue using Shell Helix F1SL785
for the engine and Shell Spirax F1L5361 for the gearbox in Spain
* Spain is a good circuit for engine cooling, especially with the
long straight
* The circuit can be hard on engines however as the track demands
long periods of time at high revs (The main straight, Turn 3 and
the two back straights in particular). Having to use one engine
all weekend per car or run the risk of a heavy grid penalty, Shell
Helix SL785 will be relied upon to protect the engine at all times |
