Schumi's & Todt's attend awards - 21st April 19:48pm GMT

Four lovebirds in the shape of Michael Schumacher, Corinna Schumacher, Jean Todt and Michelle Yeoh, were spotted attending the Sport Awards gala in San Marino, where not even the formal setting stopped the two couples from sharing loving glances, caresses and the odd kiss. Schumacher in fact only managed to pry his eyes away from those of wife Corinna when images from MotoGP races were shown on screen, which the German avidly took in, before happily pointing out to his wife the Misano circuit, track on which he arrived fourth just a month or so ago, when this too appeared on the display.

FALLS - Schumacher's passion for motorcycles seems to have become quite an addiction for the German. "I like racing on track," he told reporters, "but also enjoy working with the bikes I have at home, which I take apart and put back together again. I change the parts, take great care over all the settings and the tires, and constantly try and retry them out. Yes, I do sometime fall on track but it's all part of the fun." Schumacher's wife on the other hand just lets him get on with it, without any complaints, even though she does sometimes worry about him. "I can't exactly deny him his pleasures," confessed Corinna, "I can't equally have him around the house all the time." What becomes immediately apparent is that Schumacher, for his part, simply cannot keep still. Just yesterday for example he was playing football for the F1 drivers team at Empoli...

EVEN - Chatting about F1, Michael defined the current championship as fantastic "because in three races three different drivers have won and Ferrari have shown to be really strong with a good car and a good team. I'm happy when they call me to do some tests, it's great to get back together with the mechanics with whom I shared so many happy times. No, I'm not missing F1. How do I see Kimi and Felipe? Even. They obviously have their good and bad qualities, but their are both very skilled drivers. BMW as an outsider for the title? The team have developed a lot, they are now ready to take advantage of any possible slip-ups on the part of Ferrari and McLaren, who do nevertheless remain the strongest."

INHERITANCE - Jean Todt too expressed great confidence in Ferrari: "I have just returned from Maranello where I was at a meeting with Sport Management and there are great reasons to be satisfied. I'm happy because I believe I have laid the foundations to ensure that Ferrari will continue to accomplish great things for many years to come. There are possibly still some improvements to be made on the issue of reliability. We have taken huge steps forwards with regards to this, but we are not yet 100% there, we have to persist." Jean Todt was then a picture of satisfaction when he turned his attentions to partner Michelle Yeoh, who was recently picked by FIA to be an ambassador in the Make Roads Save campaign. "She was in Vietnam to encourage the wearing of helmets," explained Todt, "and she's also helping out in other countries where road safety is still a huge problem. She's very good. I spend half of my time in Maranello and the other half taking care of my own interests, both public and private. On June 13, President Sarkozy and Carla Bruni will come to Paris to inaugurate the opening of the new IMC headquarters, and institution that carries out research on the brain and the spinal cord, for whom I am the vice-president. As far as GPs are concerned, I will return for Monaco, not before. What will happen to FIA? I have to say goodbye now..."
