Michael
Schumacher has undoubtedly got a good track record in the Malaysian
Grand Prix. From the four races held to date, he has taken two wins,
a second and a third place, along with all four pole positions.
“After a promising opening race in Australia, I hope we will
have another interesting Grand Prix in Malaysia,” stated Schumacher
just before arriving in Kuala Lumpur.
“The
Sepang track is very tough and not just because of the weather.
Racing in such hot and humid conditions demands a lot from the driver.
I feel I am well able to deal with the conditions as the heat does
not bother me much. The circuit layout also makes for a very interesting
race. The track surface is very smooth and polished and above all,
the road itself is very wide which makes it hard to find the ideal
racing line. There are several options and this can make for some
interesting situations. I am not too sure what we can expect from
the Malaysian Grand Prix, especially as last year, the situation
turned around completely from the first to the second race of the
season. But I am sure we can be confident as we tackle this race
and that, once again, we will be in the hunt for the win.”
