Another season of F1 and another
season of trying to make money from a sport which should be abit
easier than horse racing which you have to resort to over the winter.
The Australian GP is difficult to predict mainly
because you don't know who is on form and who isn't. Bookies don't
look at winter testing and normally go by the final couple of races
of last years season. So if you have been looking the winter testing
you will know who has been having troubles and who could well win
a GP.
Here
are my tips for the weekend so if you have a spare couple of quid
then it might be worth it.
Bet 1: HEAD 2 HEAD QUALIFYING - Button to outqualify
Sato (1/2). Button has been performing well over winter and Sato
still has alot to prove. He performed ok during the Japanese GP
but in testing then Button has been on top. Bet £50
- Potential Win £25.
Bet
2: HEAD 2 HEAD RACE - Williams to finish higher than Mclaren
(13/20). Mclaren have had some major mechanical failures during
the winter and they really haven't ironed them all out while although
Williams haven't had the best of times with a reliable car, they
are in a better position than Mclaren. Bet £20 - Potential
Win £13.
Bet
3: RACE SPECIAL - da Matta not to finish the race (3/2).
Another team who have been suffering mechanical problems and Toyota
just can't seem to get the gearbox right in winter testing. The
only slight problem I have with this bet is that which Toyota driver
will have the car problem? I am going with da Matta mainly because
last year he seemed to have the bad luck compared with Panis. Bet
£20 - Potential Win £30.
If
you want to risk it you can do a combo with all these bets:
Button outqualifying Sato 1/2
Panis outqualifying da Matta
Williams finishing ahead of Mclaren 13/20
Bet: £20 - Potential Win: £79.20
