Three months after his retirement from the sport, Michael Schumacher is enjoying a relaxed life, while getting ready to watch a Grand Prix on television for the first time.
Life has changed for the seven-time world champion since his retirement.
Though he still attends test sessions and meetings at Ferrari, he doesn't seem to miss the action that went with being a race driver.
"So far I've been very relaxed, I was there at the testing of one of the cars and I didn't feel that I needed to be inside that car instead of somebody else.
"I am not missing it so far but it might change. It'll be a new experience for me to watch the Grand Prix on television. I had enough time to think and take my decision, and I have no regrets," he said.
Schumacher's place in the Prancing Horse has been taken by former McLaren star Kimi Raikkonen. The German has expressed confidence in his team's choice saying Raikkonen is well suited to his team's demands.
"In terms of driver replacement, at the moment I think there are few drivers in the market who are absolutely top level, and with Kimi we believe we have made a very good choice for our team," said Schumacher.
Life beyond the wheel has been what the 38-year-old calls 'normal' and 'pressure free'. Though Schumi may have bid adieu to the tarmac, he only hopes Raikkonen can pick up from where he left at the scarlet dream team. |
