Bahrain testing, incase you missed it - 22nd February 22:32pm GMT

Just incase you missed it and have been away for the last 2 weeks, Ferrari moved out to Bahrain for a 9 day test on the circuit that will host the first Grand Prix of the season next month. Here is a short run down of how things developed over those days.

DAY 1: Badoer (F2004 V10) covers 77 laps with a fastest time of the day, 1:32.297. Massa (248 F1) covers 51 with a time of 1:32.952 and finishes 4th out of 5 cars.

DAY 2: Badoer (F2004 V10) covers 63 laps with a fastest time of the day, 1:31.255. Massa (248 F1) covers 68 with a time of 1:31.905 and finishes 4th out of 5

DAY 3: Schumacher takes over from Badoer and straight away suffers a mechanical fault at midday and ends the day early after completing only 37 laps (1:32.229). Problem appeared to be a clutch/gearbox fault. Massa (F2004 V10) tops the times with a 1:30.029 and completes 92 laps.

DAY 4: Final day of public testing and working alongside Honda and Toro Rosso. Schumacher didn't start testing till late afternoon while the 248 F1 was still being fixed from the previous day. He completed 23 laps with the best of 1:32.909 and finished last. Massa again set the fastest lap with 1:30.578 and did 90 laps.

DAY 5: Testing now behind closed doors and the wind kicks up big time. Michael however manages to complete 92 laps with his best of 1:32.702. Solo driver.

DAY 6: After a day off, Felipe and Michael are back but once again 37kmh winds. Another impressive run by Michael with 93 laps covered and best time of
1:32.007. Felipe (F2004 V10) is slower than the 248 F1 and covers 65 laps with the best of 1:32.307.

DAY 7: The new aero package is installed on Michael's 248 F1 and the winds calm down but reliability problems return. Michael only covers 49 laps and sets a time of 1:31.320. Felipe covers 2 race distances (124 laps) and does a time of 1:30.410. Rumours start to spread that Ferrari could be packing up early.

DAY 8: Both drivers set there fastest laps of the entire test on the final day. Michael covers 55 laps in the 248 F1 (1:30.723) then switches to the F2004 V10
(1:30.375) and does 47 laps. Felipe works on the F2004 V10 in the morning and completes 36 laps with the best of 1:29.958. Rumours come true and Ferrari decide to end the test early. They don't specify why although the rumour is that parts for the 248 F1 are running very short.

What have we learn 't then? Well Ferrari's new aero package appears to be working although there are no pictures of it and its likely we won't see anything
of it until Bahrain.

Reliability is still abit of an mixed area. The engine is strong, we gather that but there are a fear gearbox gremlins and there are rumours that there's heavy vibration problems coming from the V8 engine.

Testing will carry on in Mugello on the 27th.
