Prize giving at the Galleria - 19th February 20:31pm GMT

Yesterday evening, Ferrari Corse Clienti held a prizegiving for the drivers and teams that competed in its various programmes in 2004. The ceremony took place in the renovated Galleria Ferrari in Maranello in the presence of Ferrari managing director Jean Todt, vice-president Piero Ferrari and deputy managing director Amedeo Felisa.

The evening’s programme recognised the achievements of competitors who took part in an action packed and successful season. Presenting the awards alongside Todt were, amongst others, Antonello Coletta, Head of Corse Clienti, who announced the 2005 programme and Antonio Ghini Director of Communications and Brand Management, who laid out the media plan for the coming year.

Taking their turn on stage were competitors in the Ferrari Challenge Pirelli Trophy championships, featuring the 360 Challenge, in Italian, European and USA series, as well as the Shell Ferrari Maserati Historic Challenge featuring historic cars from both marques. Lengthy applause greeted the winners of the 360: Nicola Cadei (overall world champion,) Matteo Malucelli (Pirelli Trophy Italy,) Quinto Stefana (Shell Cup Italy,) Ange Barde (Pirelli Trophy Europe,) Oliver Morley (Shell Cup Europe,) Nina Jerancic and Michel Oprey (Fairplay Cup Italy and Europe.) Also honoured were the overall winners in the 11 categories of the Historic Challenge, especially Vincent Gaye and Tom Price, who respectively took the European and North American titles.

Other special awards were presented to teams who distinguished themselves in national and international GT championships, especially Luca Cappellari and Fabrizio Gollin, who won the FIA GT championship title at the wheel of the BMS Scuderia Italia 550 Maranello.
