First day of testing this week for Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro, working today at the "Ricardo Tormo" circuit, Valencia.

Today, Marc Gene and Rubens Barrichello took to the track, the former at the wheel of an F2004 and the latter driving an F2004 M. The Spanish test driver worked on a tyre and electronics testing programme, while Rubens concentrated on finding the best set-up on the car.

At the end of the day, Gene had covered 51 laps, the quickest in a time of 1'12"770. Barrichello did 80 laps, setting a best time of 1'11"357.

Testing continues at this circuit tomorrow, when Rubens Barrichello and Michael Schumacher will be on track.
