The pre-season Formula 1 competition
steps up a notch in testing at Imola tomorrow (Tuesday), as Ferrari's
new F2004 finally goes head-to-head with major rivals Williams and
McLaren.
This will be the first time that Ferrari's new F2004
car goes up against its leading opposition in a full test session.
Until now the team has only campaigned last year's car in group
tests, preferring to develop the new car in private at Fiorano,
Mugello and Imola.
But the team's running is now behind schedule thanks
to poor weather (including snow) at Mugello and Imola. This week's
testing will be crucial in putting more miles on the new challenger,
and should provide a strong pointer to form. |
