Former Mclaren driver and Eurosport commentator John Watson contends it is time for a change at the top of the Formula One order, yet he declines to declare that Michael Schumacher's record-breaking run over.

He added: "I think Formula One needs a new champion.

"Michael has won it for the past four years and six times in all. It is a phenomenal record that speaks for itself. But the scene needs refreshing.

"The chance was there for both McLaren and Williams last year and they failed to take it. But the Ferrari is a very reliable car and they've got Michael.

"It's hard to bet against him - and anyone who beats him is going to have to work very hard.
