Luciano Burti earlier today
announced on his website that he shall carry on testing for Ferrari
during the 2004 season.
'I have signed a testing contract on part
time basis with the Ferrari Formula One Team for the 2004 season.
I’ll explain: this year the team will
only have Luca Badoer as a full time test driver. Another point
is that Ferrari has also been working very closely with the Sauber,
and one of their agreements, is that Ferrari can use Sauber’s
official drivers in their testing work during the season if needed.
Despite these factors, because Ferrari has such a busy test program
and because our good work of 2002, they signed me to be part of
their line up as well.
This is another great opportunity for me
with Ferrari and I’ll do my best to help the team once again.
Another good thing about the contract is that, when I am not involved
with F1 testing, I am free to test and race in other categories,
so I am already discussing some other possibilities for 2004.' |
