The F2004 keeps running - 11th January 22:32pm GMT

Its not normal to see Michael testing old chassis's while Badoer or Gene gets the latest one but since the introduction of the V8 engine by Ferrari, Michael just hasn't been able to keep out of the cockpit of the F2004.

The F2004 was first introduced around this time in 2004 so why on is it still being used? Some say that simply the F2005 was just rubbish and Ferrari have gone back to an old design. Well according to German media, the new V8 engine does not fit the F2005 chassis and will only fit in the F2004. Also since we have gone back to 2004 rules (e.g tyre changes) it now means the F2004 comes back into play as the car has been designed around that rule.

Despite the F2006 getting its launch at Mugello in just over a weeks time, its first run will be behind closed doors at Fiorano.
