There are 8 days to go until the launch of the new F2004. There are a number of rumours going around at the moment about the name, what it will look like etc. For those who don't know the rumours then here is where you can see them and put them to bed.

The first rumour is that the F2004 will be labelled as F2004 EF. EF meaning 'Enzo Ferrari'. I guess the rumour has come from the fact that the F2003 GA was named after Gianni Agnelli. The GA was added because Agnelli passed away not long before the launch of the car. Enzo Ferrari passed away in 1988 so its not his anniversary this year. The problem they also face is that if the F2004 proves to be a complete flop then would Enzo of wanted his name against it? I am guessing it will not be labelled F2004 EF but more likely F2004.

The second rumour is the F2004 looks likely to follow the Williams look of a new design of front nose cone. To be honest there isn't many Ferrari fans that want to see this as nearly all of them hate the look of the new Williams. We have seen both Sauber, Toyota and Jaguar all launch there cars with front nose cones that are pretty similar to the 2003 nose cones. Only Mclaren and Williams have gone for different designs and they are very much different from one another. As I said though Ferrari might be heading towards the Williams rather than a Mclaren. We have a photo of the proposed change to the front which shows a standard front nose cone but the struts which hold the wing to the nose will branch out to the side.

The rumour on the nose to me seems probable as it will be different to 2003 but how different is anyones guess. Although I think this design could well be what we shall see next week.

Monday the 26th is the day when Italy comes to a stop and we can put an end to the rumours.
