| No surprise on top at Monza as first practice provided another Friday top slot for McLaren ace Pedro de la Rosa.
The Spaniards time of 1:20.201 was almost two seconds quicker than surprise second place and fastest race driver, Mark Webber in the Williams-BMW on 1:21.816.
The two McLaren race drivers followed, Kimi Raikkonen on 1:21.842 and Juan Pablo Montoya 1:22.078, while Nick Heidfeld proved Williams have real pace with a fifth place of 1:22.351.
Crowd darlings Ferrari could only manage eighth place for Michael Schumacher, over three seconds down on the fastest time, with Rubens Barrichello 11th.
A total of eight cars did not set times, including the two Renaults.
